Starting allocations and dynamic cash
The invested sleeve uses fixed relative weights of 25:25:20:15:10, normalized to 100%, excluding USD. Cash is a separate percentage of total value. Buy-and-hold always starts with $10,000: 25% S&P 500, 25% Nasdaq-100, 20% Bitcoin, 15% Ethereum, 10% gold and 5% USD. With dynamic cash off, rebalancing starts at the same weights. When enabled, its initial targets use the rule at 0% return: 15% cash with default settings, with non-cash weights prorated. Initial weights are sized after fees. The reference stays $10,000 and later targets use rebalancing equity after fees. Buy-and-hold keeps the original quantities and cash; it does not periodically restore the allocation.
Correct only the breached assets
On each common session’s close, the app’s evaluator applies dynamic cash if enabled, then compares each invested asset with its relative target band. Cash does not trigger orders. Only breached assets receive full target corrections. Quantities and targets are frozen at that closing valuation and filled at the next common date’s opens, with sells before buys. Unfunded orders are skipped, not resized. Opening-price gaps and fees can leave weights off target. There is no borrowing.
Daily prices are an approximation
Only dates with prices for all five markets are used. Crypto opens at 00:00 UTC; US indices and GLD open later. The model treats these different opening times as one hypothetical batch, so it does not reproduce intraday execution or funding availability. Signals use the previous common date’s completed closes. No weekend trading or missing-price fills are invented. Charts and drawdowns sample common-date closes and omit weekend crypto moves.
The price series and their limits
S&P 500 (^GSPC) and Nasdaq-100 (^NDX) are price indices modeled as hypothetical units, with no dividends, fund fees or tracking costs. Gold uses GLD market prices, which already reflect fund expenses; it is not spot bullion. Crypto uses BTC-USD and ETH-USD. Cash earns no interest. Taxes, spreads, slippage, live preview expiry, the app’s 1% price-change guard, exchange quantity rules and settlement delays are excluded. Past performance does not predict future results.
About the GLD gold proxy ↗The dataset starts January 1, 2021 and extends through the last published completed quarter. Refreshes are manual. CAGR uses elapsed calendar time across the published window. Partial calendar years are labeled. The final portfolio is not liquidated. If the final observation triggers a rebalance, it remains unfilled. Rebalio requires a trade preview and approval; this simulation does not place real orders.
