Connect Gate: create your APIv4 key

Connect a Gate unified trading account with a dedicated APIv4 key.

Before you start

Use Gate at gate.com (formerly Gate.io). Rebalio supports spot trading in unified trading accounts through the global API. Classic accounts are excluded. Futures positions and Earn products are not managed. Rebalio never switches your account mode.

Keep withdrawals disabled. Every rebalance requires your approval in Rebalio, including proposals requested by an AI agent. Exchange screens can change; screenshots illustrate where to find settings.

1.Open API key management

Sign in on gate.com and open your account’s API management page. Create an APIv4 key with account type Trading Account and name it Rebalio. Use a dedicated key for this installation.

2.Choose permissions

Enable spot read access for monitoring, or spot read/write for approved orders. Rebalio reads unified balances and transferable limits to determine available funds; allow these reads if Gate exposes separate permission groups. Leave withdrawals, transfers, margin and derivatives trading disabled.

3.Set restrictions and copy credentials

If you enable an IP allowlist, enter the public outbound IP of the host running Rebalio. Copy the matching API key and secret privately. Permission changes may take a few minutes to take effect.

4.Add the key to your private Rebalio workspace

Open Accounts in your installation and choose Connect an account. Select the exchange, give the account a name and paste both values into API key and API secret. Choose Test & connect. Once connected, check that your spot holdings appear. Your credentials are encrypted on your host; do not enter them into the public website or send them to support.

If something doesn’t connect

Unsupported account mode

Use a unified trading account and an APIv4 Trading Account key. Rebalio rejects classic account mode and never changes modes on your behalf.

Permission denied

Check spot read permissions and read access for unified balances and available-funds queries. Approved execution additionally requires spot write access. Do not enable transfers or withdrawals to resolve a connection error.

Connection blocked

Check the host’s outbound IP allowlist and account eligibility. Regional Gate API endpoints are not supported; Rebalio will not switch endpoints automatically.

Keep your connection secure

Use a dedicated key for each installation. Review its expiry and IP restrictions when moving your host. Revoke a key at the exchange if it is exposed. Replacing an API key does not move your funds or erase your portfolio data.
