In Connect account, select Alpaca and Paper or Live. Crypto and supported stocks/ETFs share one connection, portfolio and USD balance. Paper is the default and uses simulated trading. Enter the matching Trading API key and secret. Rebalio never switches environments after an error.
Supported assets
USD is the only portfolio quote. Crypto requires active tradable USD pairs. Exchange-listed stocks and ETFs have no symbol allowlist. OTC, options, leveraged/inverse products and derivatives are excluded; excluded holdings remain unmanaged. Only one connection per real Alpaca account ID and environment is allowed.
Account protections
Set max_margin_multiplier to 1 and no_shorting to true in Alpaca account configuration. Rebalio checks these settings without changing them. Borrowing, short positions and unsupported orders can block trading. Rebalio does not provision or fund accounts.
Market hours and data
Stocks trade during regular market hours only, using Basic IEX prices rather than consolidated market coverage. Closed markets show indicative estimates; approved stock market DAY orders queue at Alpaca for the next session. Only currently funded orders are sent. Unfunded buys require a fresh rebalance after settlement. Crypto is independent of stock market hours. Every rebalance requires approval.
